Directions

Below is a list of lows and outs identified while following the SWOOP morning survival walk routine.

Use MPiLite to create a saved list, then screenshot that list and send it via text to the Store Manager. As you walk the aisles, fill the lows from backstock immediately after conditioning that aisle. If you fill it, it can be removed from the list. If it’s not in backstock, make sure the BOH is accurate, and send the list to the store manager to add it to this website.

Check the manifest on PowerBI to see if the product is on the live load, and pick out the product that is needed. Run backstock first then the priority live load and then whatever else is left can be left for the next day. Goal is for lows and outs to be filled by end of day. Utilizing the MPi Saved List and sending the screenshots to be added to this list creates a database so the store manager can create a Priority List for new load.

To communicate the status of each aisle, select from the dropdown list if it is fully complete (all available inventory is on the shelf), partially complete (the backstock was addressed and the BOHs are accurate), or if it is incomplete (priorities were addressed but shelves are still not properly filled, or the lows and outs were listed but backstock was not ran, though the product was faced). If it is serviced to your satisfaction, enter your name and date. Select any items that you filled that are on the lows and outs list. If it is not to expectation, enter any prominent lows to address later.

The reason for the status questions is to better communicate the priorities. It aids in planning, identifying what needs to be ran first, and what has been completed.

Lists will be started at the beginning of each week but whoever does the morning survival walk should continue to scan lows and outs (even items that are half or a quarter full should be scanned) and send the list to the Store manager by 10:30 AM. Make sure you are filling as you go.

Guidelines and Expectations

A “low” is defined as any product that is half full on the shelf, with the exception of lower volume items. The best way to determine if it qualifies as a low is if a full box is able to go out. This makes it easier to identify what can go out from live load, especially when time is a factor.
ALWAYS overfill as much as possible, even if it means putting product on top or sideways next to it. Remember that we are aiming to have product out for the full day!
Scanning lows and outs is expected during morning survival walks but any team member should be creating a list throughout the day as they stock.
Remember to backstock product in the planned backroom location! The easier it is to find, the less time needed to fill a shelf or identify a BOH change.
Request BOH changes not only for empty shelves but make sure it’s correct when it is running low, because if it sells down and enters negative or shows an on hand, that affects our OSA!

Aisles

Status Explanation

The purpose of the status options are to communicate whether or not an item listed is a low or out that has not been addressed or it is a low or out that was fully stocked from what is available in the back or it is a true out. The following is an explanation for each status:

“Complete” – You listed every low and out and followed up on the list by checking the backroom, filling whatever is available. If the item is not available, you ensured that the BOH is accurate (an accurate BOH is important for any high selling item that has no available backstock)

“Incomplete” – You scanned the lows and outs and made a list, but you didn’t check the backroom or verify on hands are accurate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Aisles 7, 8, 9, and 10 are high velocity aisles and therefore they should be completed. PRIORITIES MUST BE ADDRESSED. If you add a low and out to your saved list, make sure you check for backstock and adjust on hands at the end of facing each aisle. You can also go back to aisles that need extra attention after facing the whole store and then complete it

Make every effort to fill outs when you encounter them as soon as you can
